It all started in year 9 at High School when my French teacher, sister Jude, put a torch in my hand. I have been hooked ever since.
I spent a year of Saturdays doing casting workshops near The Rocks in Sydney, and also attended a year of night school in Chatswood, Sydney, for bench work.
1981-1984 - Bachelor of Arts at Degree, Monash University

Then I had another life in media for 17 years before returning to my passion, the bench.
I attended several Summer Schools at Central Saint Martins in London.
1997-2000 - Bachelor of Art (Hons) Jewellery, Silversmithing and Allied Crafts at
2000-2002 - Open Bench, Isleworth Adult Education College. My bench without a bench.
Returned to media work when I moved back to Australia in 2002 and have just completed transforming my outside laundry into a workshop. My first permanent bench!
From here on in I'm winging it, just doing projects that interest me at a particular time and I'm loving it. I highly recommend trying to live the dream! Yes, I still do other work but my laundry has become my sanctuary, my space.
TLC stands for The Laundry Collection. The icon inside the C is paying homage to my front loader!
