Recently I was given some good advice by a clever lady: Deborah Brearley - "Use your blog like an art journal" which would be great advice except my journal(s) have a couple of pages here and there with the majority left blank. So this is my attempt to electronically rectify my bad habit of not seeing projects through, on paper anyway. Here goes…
I was given this Moonah seed pod from a culled tree in Victoria Park. Normally its the sort of thing I would throw away but I just couldn't. It stayed on my mantelpiece for months and I admired it and wondered what it would look like in silver.
Rather than bite off more than I can technically chew, I decided to play with a small section and see what I could make of it. The initial casting was more successful than I anticipated so I went ahead, invested in the silver and gave myself a challenge.
Then the fun began!

I haven't the slightest idea where I'm going with all this but I'm enjoying the process!
